Recently, Stanton Island police officer Daniel Pantaleo was not indicted by a grand jury for the Eric Garner death which could be a product of Malcolm Gladwell’s Broken Window Theory. A recent newspaper article revealed that a teacher made a racist remark towards two Black female students. Superintendent Jimmy Weeks stated that ” Once the administration at the school was made aware of what happened, the proper disciplinary measures were taken in accordance to school district policy”. Even though the school district has taken the appropriate steps, several parents do not agree with the actions of the school district of the school district and want the employee fired for the teacher racist remark. One parent stated that “We went through to much as a people to have to go back to being called colored, to being called the N-word …”. The parents are now seeking legal counsel and the support of the local NAACP.

How Does Huntsville Racial Profiling Devastate Black Community?

The Huntsville Public School District hired a former FBI agent to spy on the activities of students which has lead to the racial profiling of Black students. The FBI agent was paid $150,000 to use social media to investigate students for possible student infractions. The agent investigations is responsible for 14 expulsions for which 12 of those expulsions were Black students. Additionally, the Huntsville Public Schools provided records that indicated suspensions for 305 students. Of those suspensions 238 were black students which is consistent with racial profiling.

Math teacher Cynthia Ramsey of Camden County High School in North Carolina told a student the she would kill all Blacks if she had ten days left to live which could deem her as a racist teacher. How Huntsville Public School Teachers Should Respond to Black Student Racial Profiling

It has been discovered that former FBI agent McRae who runs the SAFe program for the Huntsville Public Schools has made themselves famous by implementing law enforcement measures that have resulted in the racial profiling of racially Black students. The program process includes teachers and students providing anonymous tips to the school district’s SAFe program. McRae and his firm responded to anonymous tips by investigating the students social media posts which has resulted in the majority of the suspensions and expulsions for Black students. Racial profiling involves detaining, interrogating, and searches without evidence of criminal activity based on an individuals race, ethnicity, national origin, or religion. The constitution of the United States affords its citizens protection under the law from unreasonable searches and seizures. The social media post did not indicate that the alleged criminal activity took place on the school district property.

A recent Baltimore City Public School a teacher student fight is the product of racially biased testing strategies. At the Carver Vocational Technical High, school a fight between a teacher and a student ensued after a student was told to get off her cell phone during a classroom test. The student responded by slinging a chair at the teacher. The confrontation continued into the hallway. Where the student threw a book in the teachers direction the teacher response by slamming the student against the wall and allegedly to the student “I will f***ing Kill You”. Can Students Who Increase Truancy Rates Avoid Legal Consequences?

The Green Bay Public School District is taking a different approach to eliminate the truancy rate for students who increase truancy rates. The past strategy used by law enforcement was to give the student and the parent a ticket. Students received a $124 ticket and parent received a $376 ticket. This strategy proved ineffective because it was meaningless to the older students. Therefore law enforcement believed that providing a ticket to students who increase truancy rates in their younger years is more effective.

Will Granite School District Teacher Plead Self-defense in Black Teen Shooting?

In response to many school shootings, a Utah law allows teachers to carry concealed weapons in classrooms. Permit holders are not required to tell administrators. However, the law stipulates that the weapons are to remain concealed and the teacher cannot announce that he/she is carrying a weapon. It is a matter of time before the media excessively reports the death of a Black teen in the Granite School District that results from a White teacher shooting a Black student in the classroom. Students in the Jefferson County School District streamed out of school in protest to a school board initiative to promote patriotism, respect for authority, free enterprise, and it guard against school materials that “encourage or condone civil disorder, according to Jack Healy of the New York Times. Students waived flags, supporting parents delivered poster boards, magic markers, and bottles of water for the student protesters. One student, stated that another student rand through the hall screaming, “The Protest is Still on!” Immediately thereafter scores of students joined in the protest.

Brown Shooting Accentuates Need to Eliminate Classroom Racism (Elcloomism)

As many reporters continue to speculate on the Michael Brown shooting, the racism that Blacks students face in education continues to resurface. A recent report by the Office of Civil Rights indicates that Black students are more likely to be suspended when compared to White students. This suspension trend is evident for preschoolers too. A recent New York Times editorial board revealed that the criminalization process in schools for minor infractions that suggest a pattern of discrimination. The Southern Poverty Law Center found that the discrimination of Black male students in some of the nations largest schools continues this pattern of discrimination. The ending result is a Black male dropout rate is more than one and half times the dropout rate for White students.
