Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to discuss reducing crime in your community. The knowledge that you posses is keen and insightful. It has provided me with a better understanding of the dynamics involved with crime in your community.

Reducing community crime includes using preventive measures for at-risk youth. I have enhanced the lives of many at-risk youth by implementing a program that eliminates racial tensions between students and teachers. This reduction in racial tensions has resulted in increased graduation rates which ultimately reduces community crime and the need for social services as mechanisms for survival.

Due to the closing of casinos in Atlantic City, it is a matter of time before there is an influx of crimes committed by at-risk youth. This will result in increased police activity in your schools as well as the community that you serve. You will ultimately spend more money for a problem that you can eliminate by using preventive measures.

As a consultant, I offer a program that will prevent crimes in your community by enhancing the academic success of children who are in your community. These children will have an opportunity to graduate from school with the knowledge base necessary to become at the least employable as well as a productive and positive contributors to your community.

SITUATION APPRAISAL

You have begun a major transition with the intent of improving Atlantic City, NJ by minimizing the crime rate over the next few years. During your campaign for mayor in 2013, you vowed to “clean up” Atlantic City. Atlantic City residents are now facing a different dilemma with the closing of several casinos. The casino closings will cause an influx in crime from residents who are unable to find suitable employment.

Many of the school aged children will feel the impact because their parents will become preoccupied with overcoming their financial difficulties resulting in stress for both the parents and the children. Children who are stressed out will become both an academic and disciplinary challenge that will require additional police support for school personnel as well as increasing the probability that they will dropout of school. Students who dropout of school commit 70% of the crimes committed in the US.

In many schools with a diverse student population such as Atlantic City, students drop out of school because of the lack of classroom success which has a direct correlation to racial tensions between the teacher and students. Eliminating classroom racism will reduce the future possibility of students dropping out of school.

OBJECTIVES

The objectives of this consulting assistance include, but are not limited to:

  • Reduce the need for police intervention in schools
  • Reducing the student dropout rate
  • Increase student graduation rate
  • Increase student achievement
  • Using this opportunity to improve community relations
  • Preventing problems before the more expensive and sometimes embarrassing contingent actions are taken.

VALUE TO ATLANTIC CITY

The value of this project is multifold, including:

  • Decreased fire and police involvement with school challenges
  • Decreased societal challenges associated with students who dropout of school
  • Avoiding the negative media associated with crime
  • Improved community relations
  • Increased student education in the eyes of the Atlantic City community.

TIMING

The maximum transition time is estimated to take 11 months (excluding the summer months when school is not in session), which is a reasonable expectation, barring unforeseen developments. I am able to begin within a week of your approval, provided that it is forthcoming by mid-October.

METHODOLOGY AND OPTIONS

There are three levels of interaction that can be effective for this project, depending on the degree of help and participation you desire from your consultant.

Leadership Training Seminar

  • Learn the essential components for eliminating teacher students classroom tensions
  • Learn how the components of a dysfunctional organization contribute to teacher student classroom tensions in schools
  • Learn the essential components necessary for implementing an organizational transition that reduces teacher student tensions

Audit

  • Evaluate root cause(s) of teacher student tensions using quantitative methods
  • Evaluate root cause(s) of teacher student tensions using qualitative methods
  • Evaluate values, attitudes, and beliefs that contribute to teacher student tensions
  • Develop Systemic Structure to determine best starting point to reduce teacher student tensions
  • Determine best leadership practices for reducing teacher student tensions

Promoting Positive Teacher-Student Classroom Relationships Program

  • Pre and post audit
  • Determine root cause(s) using quantitative and qualitative methods
  • Develop Systemic Structure to determine best starting point to reduce teacher student tensions
  • Determine values, attitudes, and beliefs that contribute to teacher student tensions
  • Conduct a leadership analysis to determine most effective team for implementing the program implementation
  • Facilitate 11 month program
  • Facilitate 10 customized Promoting Positive Teacher Student Classroom Relationships Strategic Planning sessions
  • Finalize an organizational manual for Promoting Positive Teacher Student Classroom Relationships
  • This option is for organizations that desire to maximize the effectiveness of this transition.

Note that all options include unlimited access to my time and help within the parameters described. The options presented are for one school within the Atlantic City Public School District.

JOINT ACCOUNTABILITIES

You would be responsible for internal scheduling, reasonable access to key personnel, on-site administrative support, and reasonable access to past and current documentation that would aid the project. I would sign all required nondisclosure and confidentiality agreements. We agree to immediately appraise each other of any intelligence or findings that would impact the success of the project so that rapid action could be considered.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

For the purpose of this contract, I am not assessing a daily or hourly rate. You should not have to make an investment decision every time my assistance may be needed, nor should your people have to seek permission to spend money if they need my help. This is a unique feature of my consulting practice.

Fees for the options are:

Option 1: $ 6,000. (Limited to 25 people)

Option 2: $21,000.

Option 3: $54,000.

These fees are inclusive of expenses, so long as all work required is in the general Atlantic City area. All travel, administrative, logistical, and com­munication expenses are included, so there is no further amount due for either option.

Payment terms are as follows:

  • Fifty percent due on acceptance of this proposal.
  • Fifty percent due 45 days after acceptance.

We offer a courtesy discount of 10 percent when the full fee is paid upon acceptance.
