SITUATION APPRAISAL

You have begun a major transition with the intent of improving Clementon, NJ by minimizing crime rate over the next few years. During our recent meeting, you stated that “the federal government predicts the number of prisons to build according to 4th grade test scores”. Many 4th grade students who lack success in the classroom have an increased possibility of becoming a high school dropout.

The transition that you seek will require reducing the possibility of student dropout rate for students transitioning through the Clementon Public School District. In many schools with a diverse student population such as Clementon NJ, the lack of classroom success is directly correlated to racial tensions between the teacher and students. Eliminating classroom racism will reduce the future possibility of student dropping out of school who have transitioned through the Clementon Public School District.

OBJECTIVES

The objectives of this consulting assistance proposal include, but are not limited to:

  • Reduce the need for police intervention in schools
  • Reducing the student dropout rate
  • Increase student graduation rate
  • Increase student achievement
  • Using this opportunity to improve community relations
  • Preventing problems before the more expensive and sometimes embarrassing contingent actions are taken.

VALUE TO CLEMENTON CITY

The value of this project proposal is multifold, including:

  • Decreased fire and police involvement with school challenges
  • Decreased societal challenges associated with students who dropout of school
  • Avoiding the negative media associated with crime
  • Improved community relations
  • Increased student education in the eyes of the Clementon City community.

TIMING

The maximum transition time is estimated to take 11 months (excluding the summer months when school is not in session), which is a reasonable expectation, barring unforeseen developments. I am able to begin within a week of your approval, provided that it is forthcoming by mid-October.

METHODOLOGY AND OPTIONS

There are three levels of interaction that can be effective for this project proposal, depending on the degree of help and participation you desire from your consultant.

Option 1: Audit

  • Evaluate root cause(s) using quantitative and qualitative methods
  • Evaluate values, attitudes, and beliefs that contribute to racism in the school

Option 2: Leadership Training Seminar

  • Learn the essential components for eliminating classroom racism in schools
  • Learn how the components of a dysfunctional organization contribute to racism in schools
  • Learn the essential components necessary for implementing an organizational transition that reduces racism in the workplace
  • Learn leadership characteristics necessary to eliminate classroom racism

Option 3: Eliminate Classroom Racism Program

  • Determine root cause(s) using quantitative and qualitative methods
  • Develop Systemic Structure to determine best starting point to reduce racism
  • Determine values, attitudes, and beliefs that contribute to racism in the organization
  • Conduct a leadership analysis to determine most effective team for piloting program implementation
  • Conduct a leadership analysis to determine most effective team for piloting program implementation
  • Facilitate 11 month pilot program
  • Facilitate ten customized Promoting Positive Racial Workplace Relationships Strategic Planning sessions
  • Finalize organizational manual for Promoting Positive Racial Relationships

This option is for organizations that desire to maximize the effectiveness of this transition. Note that all options include unlimited access to my time and help within the parameters described.

JOINT ACCOUNTABILITIES

You would be responsible for internal scheduling, reasonable access to key personnel, on-site administrative support, and reasonable access to past and current documentation that would aid the project. I would sign all required nondisclosure and confidentiality agreements. We agree to immediately appraise each other of any intelligence or findings that would impact the success of the project so that rapid action could be considered.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

For the purpose of this contract, I am not assessing a daily or hourly rate. You should not have to make an investment decision every time my assistance may be needed, nor should your people have to seek permission to spend money if they need my help. This is a unique feature of my consulting practice.

Fees for the options are:

Option 1: $ 10,600.

Option 2: $23,000.

Option 3: $36,000.

These fees are inclusive of expenses, so long as all work required is in the general Camden County area. All travel, administrative, logistical, and com­munication expenses are included, so there is no further amount due for either option.

Payment terms are as follows:

  • Fifty percent due on acceptance of this proposal.
  • Fifty percent due 45 days after acceptance.

We offer a courtesy discount of 10 percent when the full fee is paid upon acceptance.
